Force Customers to Buy Your Competitor’s Product

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Is this a good stategy?

This is what Coke(r) is doing to promote their Vault(tm) product.
Until the end of July with a special coupon you can purchase
Mounain Dew(tm) and get Vault(tm) free.

So not only are they making you purchase from their competitor
but they are also giving you a free product.  There must be something
to this promotion, after all Coke(r) is the #1 soda company.

The promotion is to show you how much better Vault(tm) is
compared to Mountain Dew(tm). Vault has more kick and more citrus.

Now how can you do the same with your business?

Well since I think of it that is what the gurus do.
Have your heard of bonuses?

When a popular product is released by some famous
marketer and is a bit costly you see all kinds of promotions
saying:

“Don’t buy xxx’s product until you see this” or simular.

Basicly they want to give you other products that they
own.  Maybe even a free trial membership to there site.

You can do the same with a simple tool called
Instant Bonus Page

You can see  a simple page I created for the
 Memorial Day Giveaway here.

Coke(r) on the other hand doesn’t get commission for
sending customers to Mountain Dew(tm).  So they
must have an extremely high confidence in their
product.

So why not take advantage of this and try Vault(tm)
for free. Some convenient stores have the coupon.
