Quake startles Oklahoma

November 6th, 2011

Last night I experienced my first real earthquake tremor.
I know we get a lot of quakes all the time, they just aren’t big.

Last nights was a 5.6.  That was some experience and I don’t
want to be in one where it splits the earth and causes all kinds
of damage.  If it happens though it will just be another thing
that I have to deal with and then I can see how others felt.

So are you doing the same thing in traffic exchanges and just
taking it easy, or are you the one that sets off the quakes?

Even though my quake experience was slight it was still a little
frightening.  So I thought about this as a marketing port and
looked at how I have been advertising.

It takes a creative mind you would think to come up with some
of these craze ads you see on TV or the Internet.  If you just let
go and step out of the safe zone then you could start a quake of
your own.

adKreator has had a lot of people making krazy splashes.
Some are even developing a quake in the exchanges.

The largest quake to hit was probably with the CTP.  Since TimTech
launched CTP there have been all kinds of different types of splashes
created to advertise it.  That is because they want you to start your
own quake and get the results you deserve.

Start learning how to make your own quake in the traffic exchange
industry today.

Easy Branding In TEs.

January 28th, 2011

The most under looked thing about advertising in traffic exchanges is
branding.  You may be setting up a splash or squeeze page but leave
off the personalizing or branding.

This is something that I will be working on to fix with the rebuild.
While it is easy to brand yourself in the most popular TEs that use
Gravatar.com members still fail to use it.

Gravatar is a great service that allows you to have your picture,
that is registered with the email you suggest, displayed on sites that
use the Gravatar service.

WordPress has this feature on their site as well.  Which means that
you will also be adding branding to comments that you post on
other WordPress blogs.

To start branding yourself in most traffic exchanges all you have
to do is sign up at Gravatar and register the emails that you use
in traffic exchanges and upload a picture.

This will help get your started branding yourself which can help
get you more sales/signups.

Here are some traffic exchanges that use Gravatar’s service and
are great social exchanges as well.  You can do more than just
brand  yourself with an image at these sites.

Having Graphic Problems?

September 2nd, 2010

Graphics can take a lot of your time to create.  It takes
the time to come up with an idea, then you have to create
it.  Making graphics on a computer is different than on
paper.

Of course if you have a scanner you could just scan your
drawing.  This may be an easy way, but what if there was
an even easier way.

Well there is, but it can be costly.  It depends on who you
ask and what you are having done.  This could range from
$47 up to hundreds.

If you are looking for an easy and cheap way of getting
graphics done then look at the following site.

Now this won’t help you if you need a specific kind of
graphic. With there library you my find something that you
will like.

To make this so great is that they add new content every
Tuesday.  This is a great place to start with if you want
the cheapest (no cost) graphics for your splash pages.

The owner of this site has also created many mini sites
for people and does excellent work.

Take a look at the site to see if you can get the help
you need.

Tweet when you created a splash page?

March 19th, 2009

I have been thinking about adding a new feature to BuildASplash.com
that sends a tweet when you created a splash page.

This could be a tweet about the site you created the splash page for.

i.e. If you created a splash page for an affiliate site like SFI and enter
a URL that take you there then it would say something like.

A splash page was just created for http://…/

Or if you added your name it could even be a tool for branding.

Edward just created a splash for http://…/

What’s your thoughts on the issue and what else would you like.

Unknown how long this could take.

I have been working on creating a membership site for BuildASplash.com
and looking on ideas on how to make it an affiliate site so that you can
earn by referring others.

I would like to thank all the new members and I apologize for not having
more regular posts.

Heatmap Splash Page Testing.

October 4th, 2008

This is a post in response to Tim Linden’s latest contest for
Video Splash Pages where he is giving away a Flip
Mino Video Camcorder
.

Tim posted about Splash Page Heatmap Testing on his blog.
I find this to be something of interest to know about and it
is one of my favorite posts that Tim has posted.

The basics is that a heatmap tells where people click on
your page.  This can be a useful thing to know as Tim
discribe in his post.

Supersurf Splash page Heatmap test

Supersurf Splash page Heatmap test

As you can see with Tim’s testing most people are cliking in the top right corner.  He found out that noone has clicked on the close button.  My thoughts on this is maybe because they clicked to continue to the new site in the traffic exchange that the viewed the page in.

I find myself clicking the stop button if it is late and I didn’t mute the speaker and my daughter is a sleep.  That
is about the only time I do, but there are some other occassions too.

Looks like there would be more testing to do than just
heatmap testing as Tim isn’t sure how many of the
viewers that clicked on the AKH link has joined or not.

Until Tim’s post I didn’t know about heatmap testing.
So I had to do some more investigation in this type of
testing.  I found some sites that offer software for this
testing. Most of the sites require the purchase of the
software.

I haven’t used this type of testing yet but after reading
the post I did look into it and found a website where
I downloaded software so I could give this a try.

If I find it useful I may include this some how in with
BuildASplash.com.

Thanks for the information Tim.

Splash Page Generator gets its own domain and new name.

June 26th, 2007

While working with this project there never was a real name for it. It was just called by what it does. Which is generating splash pages. When the time came to create a home for the project with its own domain it was decided that a name should be given.

At last the generic splash page generator has been given the name Build A Splash. So on the 25 day of June Splash Page Generator became Build A Splash located at http://www.BuildASplash.com/

In addition to the new move and name this blog has been added for feed back and to inform you of new changes that have been made.
